Biography

The son of Louis Da Foe and Orpha (Misener) Da Foe, John Da Foe was born in Bay City, Michigan^{[citation needed]} in 1918, residing there with his family.^[1] John and his family lived for a time in Maple Valley, Michigan,^[2] later returning to Bay City.^[3] He registered for the World War II draft when he was 21, registering in Bay City, Michigan on October 16, 1940.^[4] He stated that he lived with his family at 814 27th Street in Bay City and that he worked for Plywood Products Corporation. John was described as 6'0" tall and 165 pounds with red hair and brown eyes.

John married Madelyn Frances Chance (1919-1994), the daughter of John Homer Chance and Gladys Anderson, making their home in Santa Barbara, California, where he worked as a salesman for Harding Equipment Company.^[5][6] John Da Foe passed away in Santa Barbara^[7][8] at the age of 86.
